How AI Changes Hotel Competitiveness

Publicat pe 05 June 2026

Bitsoft and Oracle brought together hospitality leaders for a discussion on AI, OPERA Cloud and the future of hotels.

On May 28, Bitsoft and Oracle Hospitality hosted the “AI Powered Hospitality Breakfast” event in Bucharest, dedicated to hospitality leaders interested in the growing impact of artificial intelligence on hotel operations, guest experience and overall business performance.

The event brought together general managers, hotel owners, investors and hospitality technology specialists, creating a practical discussion platform around the transformations currently taking place in hotels and the role digital infrastructure plays in this change.

Among the participants were representatives of leading hotel groups and companies in the industry, including Dragoș Anastasiu from Eurolines Romania Group, Radu Enache and Stefan Balaur from Continental Hotels, and Liliana Mateiaș, Vice Chairman & Finance Director at ANA Hotels, alongside numerous owners and managers of independent hotels and local hotel chains.

The strong interest in the event confirmed that AI is no longer seen purely as a technology topic, but as a factor that can directly influence the competitiveness and profitability of hotel businesses.

Oracle: Digital Infrastructure Will Make the Difference

The event’s special guest was Laura Calin, Senior Vice President Consumer Industries at Oracle, who presented the direction in which technology is evolving for the hospitality industry and how cloud platforms are creating the foundation needed to adopt new AI-powered capabilities.

The discussion highlighted that artificial intelligence does not work in isolation. It depends on integrated systems, consistent data and a modern infrastructure capable of connecting all hotel touchpoints.

One of the key messages of the presentation was that, in the coming years, competitive advantage will belong to the hotels that start building the digital foundation needed to quickly adopt new technologies today.

An Open Discussion About What Is Already Happening in Hotels

The second part of the event featured a discussion moderated by Bogdan Stanciu, General Manager at Bitsoft, together with Laura Calin and Alexandru Calcan, owner of Hotel Peștera Wellness & Spa.

The conversation focused on concrete examples and on the challenges hoteliers face when trying to implement new technologies.

Topics included the automation of operational processes, the use of APIs for the fast integration of new applications, the impact of AI on team productivity, and how hotels can experiment with and validate ideas much faster than in the past.

The experience of Hotel Pestera offered participants a practical perspective on how technology can be tested and implemented gradually, starting from real operational needs.

Examples of Digitalization with a Direct Impact on Revenue

Participants also had the opportunity to discover examples of projects that deliver measurable results for hotels.

One such example was Danubius Hotels Group, where the implementation of a digital room service solution, Breeze ServUs, helped increase both the usage of the service and the average order value.

These examples added a practical perspective to the discussion around AI and digitalization, showing how technology can support not only operational efficiency, but also the development of new revenue streams.

A Dialogue That Will Continue

The AI Powered Hospitality Breakfast event confirmed the industry’s growing interest in topics such as artificial intelligence, automation and digital transformation.

For Bitsoft and Oracle Hospitality, the event was an opportunity to bring industry leaders together, encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, and create a dedicated space for discussing the challenges and opportunities that will shape the coming years in hospitality.

We thank all participants for joining us, for their questions and for their valuable contributions to the conversation.
